Another unexpected email was from an employee at DiscountPartySupplies.com. She emailed to ask if it would be ok to send Boo a little gift. Again, I was blown away by the initial offer, but even more so when the package arrived. I had no idea there were even that many Scooby Doo party supplies.

The package included:

Ring toss game
Centerpiece
2 packages of stickers
Tattoos
Coloring book
Activity book
Table cover
Large plates
Small plates
Large napkins
Small napkins
Cups
Plastic utensils
Invitations
Thank you cards
Wristbands
Banner
Treat bags
Kaleidoscope
2 packages of balloons
2 packages of streamers
Jacks
Scooby Doo bouncy ball
Guest of Honor ribbon
Scooby mask
Scooby Doo stuffed animal

I’m saving the supplies for a year-end party at Boo’s preschool. Hopefully, I can keep them out of sight, out of mind for Boo until then.

But for me personally, the best part of the care package was the incredibly kind letter written by the President of DiscountPartySupplies.com. It was handwritten (which I truly appreciate) and from the heart. He is a father of 2 and understood the dilemma we face everyday when it comes to parenting. One line read, “Too bad some parents have to be so thoughtless, but I hope (and believe) that they are the exception rather than the rule.”

I believe that too, Sir. And I hope that many of you agree. The world is always a better place when we display thoughtfulness and tolerance. Kind people often speak more quietly than mean ones, but the former’s messages come across so much clearer.

Thank you, DiscountPartySupplies.com. I am so grateful for your generosity and kindness. Boo and his friends are going to have a party to remember for the rest of their lives!

Warner Bros is amazing

Posted: January 6, 2011 by Cop's Wife in bubba/boo, things i love

Above is a picture of the care package that Warner Bros sent to Boo. They contacted me after the infamous post went viral. I honestly figured they would send a couple of DVDs (probably ones we already own as we own a LOT, but we could keep one set in the house and one in the van). Then this enormous box arrived. I was shocked. I am not the type that wins in Vegas or gets the coveted gift in a white elephant exchange. I am not ‘lucky.’ Good things happen to me all the time, but not those serendipitous extra bonuses that some seem to have just fall into their laps.

But now, I just might be. Or perhaps Boo is. I was overwhelmed by their generosity. Overwhelmed.

Here is what the box included:
3 ft tall stuffed Scooby
2 sets of pajamas (that have been alternated everyday since Boo received them)
2 t-shirts (that have been worn as soon as they come out of the dryer)
2 sets of boxer shorts (Boo’s first introduction to boxers; he loves them)
3 sets of the mini Mystery Mates figurines
Scooby toothbrush
set of the Mystery Crew figurines
Camp Scare DVD (which has now been added into heavy rotation with the rest of our Scooby DVDs)
First Frights Nintendo DS game
Spooky Swamp Nintendo DS game
Mystery Machine Ghost Patrol
and the 2nd to the best thing: the Mystery Mansion Playset

The absolute coolest thing that they sent:

A personalized, autographed drawing of Daphne and Scooby. Boo went nuts when he saw it. He has told everyone he knows, and many that he doesn’t. He is so excited. And thinks it is awesome that people he doesn’t know liked his costume so much that they wanted to send him surprises.

I cannot possibly convey how grateful I am to them. It was so kind, generous, unexpected, and wonderful. My little Boo could not be happier.

Thank you, Warner Bros, Thank you very much.
