I tend to not like shopping anyway…taking the kids is something I don’t to do.

I had to shop with my son once, when some of the presents I was buying were for him! I had to get really creative in how I approached that. I ended up saying stuff like, “Do you think Emily [his cousin] would like this? Do you think Daddy would like this?” Of course, at the age he was, he couldn’t see why little girls and daddies wouldn’t like Hot Wheels, action figures, and things that HE would like. The bigger his eyes got and the more he excitedly he said yes, the more I knew he liked the item. But I was careful to mark these items that I bought with him as being from me, not from Santa, lol! Then when Christmas came, he finally realized I tricked him and he laughed!
