Happy Thanksgiving

Posted: November 24, 2011 in Uncategorized

Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday, depending on where you live) from my family to yours! I’m off spending the day being thankful and doing thankful things with my thankful family. Hope you get to do a little of the same.

Things I’m thankful for this year:

  • my kids are healthy
  • all of the great friends I’ve met this year, including those I’ve gotten to know through this blog, through comments, through emails, you name it. Makes me smile on the inside
  • all of my already existing friends - Book Club Bitches, Momtourage, Sports Mamas (and Daddies), etc. You all help keep me sane. Mostly.
  • getting a check from THE NEW YORK FREAKING TIMES for a piece I wrote
  • writing for NickMom (newly launched site)
  • having shorties that want to snuggle up and watch movies together
  • reading and books
  • my macbook
  • having a supportive family, regular and in-law
  • being lucky enough to have the Detective in my life
  • shorties that make me laugh all the time
  • and a million other things including all the usual like a roof over our heads, food on the table, steady income. I try to never take those things for granted

Now, what’s the strangest thing for which you are grateful this year?

  1. Maria says:

Forever thankful for my “village” as we struggle with the insanity of parenthood.

  2. IMPERFECTION. Good-enoughness…sharing with other moms and dads my funny failures so that we all know it’s OKAY to be and let everyone…well, you know…just B.

  3. Crystal says:

The strangest thing I am thankful for, is that I always have the ability to find love for someone else, whether it be a new baby born into my family, or a new found friend. And at no time do I feel like I love any one any less. My heart bursts with all the love and joy I find in this world and I’m thankful for all the people that both give and receive it with me.

  4. Kirk C says:

I am thankful to loving moms and families like you and yours who are moving us forward to acceptance and equality. best wishes of health and happiness for the holidays and year to come.
