The other day Squirt and I were hanging out watching Bubble Guppies [yes, really] and though I do have a tendency to tune out with eyes glazed [as a parent, we sometimes learn to sleep with out eyes open and heads nodding periodically] I was snapped to by the word ‘clam’ over and over. This was an episode all about clams. And the 12 year old in me giggled every time. I looked for it online to link here, but wasn’t lucky enough to find it.
However, a Twitter follower was kind enough to share this Mickey Mouse gem with me. Thanks, @phoff
Which of course reminded me of this:
Et tu, Elmo?
I saw that particular number when Peanut was little. And I laughed out loud. And even now when I hear the word ‘balls’ I cannot help but to sing this in my head, and sometimes out loud.
Balls, balls, balls, balls, balls, balls. Balls, balls, balls, balls, balls.
Yep, I have the sense of humor of a pre-pubescent.
And in random nerdy fashion, I’m giving away a set of 6 Sesame Street figurines. I received these at BlogHer ’11 from the PlaySkool booth. I am certain that this is not at all what they intended, but it is making me giggle a little more and I do love to be in a good mood. This includes Elmo, Oscar, Telly, Cookie, and the questionably straight Bert and Ernie. I’m also going to throw in PlaySkool’s Big Air Dare DVD with exclusive toy truck. Yeah, I’m that generous. So email me nerdyapplebottom at gmail dot com with Elmo’s Balls in the subject line to be entered to win. I will accept entries until 12pm CST tomorrow 10/21/2011.
Oh, if you have other funny kid show clips, feel free to leave a comment. This stuff makes me laugh and laugh.

I was recently watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (um, with my kid), and was giggling like a fool because there were all these possibly unintended double entendres. It was an episode in which Daisy Duck was trying to earn her “pretend doctor sticker.” A lot of blowing on boo-boos and the like. I was just happy to find a way to make that show briefly tolerable.
Haha, I remember that Elmo clip! I have a 4-year-old son, and when he’s not playing, he can be glued to the Disney Junior channel all day!
The book ‘I’m a Seed’…when he grows big balls & they turn green…oh yeah, we giggle like 12yo boys
Now I have to get that one. And like the name. Is Manley your maiden name?
I always giggle when I read Runaway Bunny on the page where is says “If you become the wind and blow me”.
My kids think I’m a lunatic
Have you seen the Wonder Pets episode where they save the beaver by helping it fill the hole? Yeah…
Lol, no I haven’t but I’m laughing right now just thinking about it.
The Spongebob “Ripped Pants” episode is a classic at my house!
“That was so righteous; would you … sign my pants?”
