I wasn’t exactly sure what to call this one, but I loved it so much. These two are from another one of my favorite families. The mom in this family was one of those standing there when Moms ABC were discussing the appropriateness of Boo’s Daphne ensemble. She was wholeheartedly on our side. And the next time I ran into Dad, he made sure I knew that he was behind us as well. How lucky am I to know such kind people?
So here’s Dad and middle child/oldest son. I love that they are snuggling. I love the looks on their faces (or what you can see of them). I love that T, almost 9, is wearing a concoction all his own. These two were non-stop as far as trying on wigs, glasses, costumes, and obviously any combination thereof.
I think this may be my favourite so far. It’s definitely got the being who you want to be, not following any else’s rules thing going on, which is fab. And the love is right there front and centre.
A lot of the others are about doing something much more standard, but seen as for the other gender. Which is important too, but sometimes its good to go off on your own tangent entirely.

I love that C3PO has a moustache. I love that the dad who’s hugging his kid with such obvious affection also has tats. And is wearing a crown of flowers. One parent, two parents, gay, straight, middle-aged, teenaged … our kids just need for us to be there for them. It’s hard sometimes with all of life’s distractions and demands, but I find the more I focus on my son, the happier and more easygoing he is and thus, I am too.
