Pics I Love

Posted: September 17, 2011 by Sarah in pics i love, shorties

This pic makes me smile. A big, huge smile. How cute do they look in their new backpacks? Even better that each of the backpacks we bought allowed a second backpack full of school supplies go to a child in need. And I’m all about education.

I especially love the fact that my shorties are all different sizes, but their bags are the same. The scale is what makes me grin.

Have I mentioned that I have some pretty amazing shorties?

I’m kind of surprised that Squirt can stand upright with that thing on! Cute picture - I love the colors!

He doesn’t actually have to carry anything other than his glasses and an occasional piece of paper. He always buckles the chest strap when he puts it on. Every. Single. Time.

Neat stuff, though I look at that and go “wow those kids have pending spinal problems in thier future.”

Sorry, those are just some huge backpacks there.

    • Sarah says:

The 2 littlest ones carry nothing more than a few sheets of paper per day so they’ll be fine my oldest carries more, but of course is bigger. Plus the chest strap helps and horizontal orientation helps distribute weight. I swear I’m not torturing them. ;)

ugh, this feels like a marketing ploy/free advertisement. I usually love your posts but the product placement in this one is off-putting, to me anyway.

    • Sarah says:

I’m sorry. I certainly didn’t mean it to. It was more of a first day of school/look at the similarities and differences in my shorties.
Though I do have to say I love the backpacks and the fact that a free one full of supplies goes to a kid that otherwise wouldn’t have one. I thinks it’s awesome. And more importantly, so do my shorties.
Again, I didn’t mean to offend. I apologize if it came off the wrong way.

Sarah, you do NOT owe anyone an apology for posting an adorable picture of your kids. Sheesh! Some people will take offense at a rainy day. Furthermore, even if this was product placement, it looks like a great product by a great and generous company. While I’m sure you’re not taking money to promote them, I wouldn’t blame you if you did. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with promoting a worthwhile product you believe in.

Yes, they are adorable! And I did notice that Boo opted for the Green, and your youngest is also into pink and purple! That’s very cool. I too feel that they are really wide and too large for my 5 yr old, but what a great product and company! I hope your kids enjoy their school year!

  5. Jill says:

i love that boo’s is purple. he rocks and i am in awe of his fearlessness and confidence at such a young age. i know much of that will continue thanks to you… :)

I bought one these for my 5 year old (I’m the nanny, not the mum) for a starting kindergarten gift. He helped me pick the colour and was so excited when it arrived that he slept with it (truly)! Unfortunately, the thing that makes it so cute - being all the same size - also makes it kind of unusable for him. Sigh, we just can’t make it fit him properly, so he’s gone back to using his Ben10 backpack and we’ve put away this one for another year. Hopefully by next year he’ll have grown enough to warrant the bigger backpack.

I love the company and their philosophy. I just wish that they did have a smaller size.
