First, let me apologize for the delay in choosing a winner. We had 12+ inches of snow fall, coupled with school cancellations. We are on Day Three right now. I do love my kids, but I also love a routine.
Without further ado, the winner is…

Please email me at nerdyapplebottom at gmail dot com to claim your super awesome prize.
And thank you to all that participated. I do wish that I had 105 or so to give to each of you. This was really quite fun for me though so maybe I’ll do some more of these in the future.

Religion and Denominational ties are sometimes strong and scarey things. Don’t be so tied to a denomination that you aren’t willing to look at a different one. Except when you cross the great Catholic/ Protestant divide the differences are not so earth shattering. There are denominations (3 come to mind right off the bat) that are pretty open and tolerant and don’t let the “guiding our flock” thing go to their heads. I’m lucky enough to have grown up in a denomination that although isn’t as far along as I’d like to see, does have many churches in it that are open and tolerant. It takes some research to find where you and your family will feel comfortable but it is out there. I encourage you to seek. Just remember-Nothing can seperate us from God’s love. The love is free and unconditional. Anyone who tries to put conditions on Gods love is doing something wrong.
God bless you! This is not the God I love either, you are so right about that! Keep fighting for what you believe is right. I’m so sad reading about your church’s actions on this matter, and I just hope and pray this was an exception. Keep remembering this has got nothing to do with God or his love for you, and continue talking to him! He will make you strong.

You’re not alone honey. Years ago I had a similar heartbreak happen with the church. They tend to confuse “disagreeing with you” to “hating god.” Not the same thing. You did right by your son and I’m terribly proud of you for doing so well and behaving so lovingly towards people who were turds to you :)
Yup - what they said. Ever notice that what goes around comes around? Lot of positive energy floating around Nerdy-ville..
Again- so nice of you to do this.
yaaay for ohjennran!!! and yaay for your generous heart!!!
