My KCUR interview

Posted: January 14, 2011 by Cop's Wife in accomplished, cop's wife

In case you missed it, here is my interview with NPR-affiliate KCUR. I am interviewed in the first half. The second half is fellow blogger Squidilicious.

Also, today happens to be the Official Delurker Day (who knew such a thing existed?) so please leave a comment and let me know you’ve been here. Thanks!

Also a lurker! Found your site via FB, because of the infamous post, but kept returning because I love your writing.

  2. Mille says:

This is the first I’ve heard about de-lurker day, but I love it already. Mainly because I read the rest of your post from “de-lurker” onwards in Lurch’s voice (my head for some reason read it as “de-lurcher” initially..)
You blog is amazingly funny and heart-warming, and I check in almost every day to see if you have something new to say.

Yes I admit it I do stop by here for inspiration. By the way I may as well say it, your invited to appear on my Internet Show debuting next month and produced here in KC anytime. We would be honored to have you as a co-host.

And best regards and Happy News Years from The Crew to everyone.

Delurking for delurker day - I’ve been checking in on your blog periodically since the “my son is gay” post first hit.

My mother would have done exactly what you did. She approved of dressups wholeheartedly and, if she’d had a son who wanted to be Daphne for Halloween, she’d have supported him completely. She even let me go out to the local mall (not what you may think of as a mall - I’m from Tasmania and a mall in Hobart is an open air space surrounded by shops) dressed in a belly dancer’s outfit.

De-lurking-I heard about your story on 96.5 the Buzz. Then I read your blog and felt some kinship-my husband is a cop in Overland Park. Keep on keepin’ on sister!

  7. Derek Thomas says:

    I’m NOT a lurker, I’m not I’m not I’m not…. :-)

  8. StPaulieGrrl says:

I suppose I’ve been one of those “lurkers.” I’ve been reading your blog since the post about Boo and the Halloween costume. I totally support your decision and love the way you expressed the event and your feelings in writing. You have a talent! I may not say too much — plenty of folks out ready and willing to take on that task — but I’m here and I’m reading. I like you and your family, Cop’s Wife!

  9. the swede says:

Thanx for a great blog, funny and clever!

  10. Lisa says:

Found your blog during “the frenzy”. (Duh!) Stayed because I too am a wife of cop and mom. We are officially TWO WEEKS from retirement. Can’t wait to see how this goes!

  11. Colleen says:

De-lurking! I found your blog during the Scooby Doo incident. I keep reading because I want to be the super-supportive mom to my kid that you are to yours, your kids’ comments crack me up, and it happens we live in the same metro area.

  12. Christina says:

De-lurked! I started following when the LGBTQ sites posted your blog applauding your support of whatever Boo wants to do or be. I kept following because you seem like a genuinely awesome person, a great mom, and some of the things your kids say have me falling out of my chair laughing. Keep up the great work and more funny posts please!

  13. Rachel says:

I love your blog. I love that you let your children be children. I have a nephew that loved all things princess. He insisted he was a princess. He knew the difference pointing out the fact the his uncle was a prince, his auntie a princess yet still insisting he was a princess.
His parents handled it the same way you did and eventually he started to show interest in other things.
I found your blog when the “my son is gay” post went viral and I love it!

  14. Courtenay says:

I found your blog a couple of mere weeks before the Scooby Doo event. Enjoying your posts :)
