I’m not exactly sure why I love this picture so much. It was taken in at a work Christmas party in 2001.
Maybe because it is one of a very few of Type A Friend and me together. We’ve been friends for almost a decade [hardly seems possible] and though we rarely see each other, I know I could call her in a heartbeat at any hour of the day and she’d be there for me. She’d stay up all night talking or come get me or whatever I needed. We’ve helped each other through more than a few very bad times. And I do mean VERY bad. And she is so strong. She is a rock to her family. She is an amazing daughter, sister, mom, wife, and friend. Some of the things that she has had to deal with would have put me in bed for an indeterminate amount of time. But she stands up and puts one foot in front of the other. I am constantly awed by her.
We are an odd coupling. Very opposite in so many ways. She is tall and dark and I am short and pasty. She is driven and motivated where I am lazy and floundering. She is strong and organized. I am, well you get the point.
I sure am glad she’s on my side. As I imagine she can be a force to reckon with.
Plus she’s always good to buy a case or so of Girl Scout cookies from Peanut.
I love you, Type A. And I’m glad we are friends.
