I’ve had such a busy week that I’ve not had the chance to actually finish a book. That is mind-boggling to me. I am always readinga book. And I usually get through them pretty quickly, but not this week. I have however been trying to clear out some magazines. And yes, I did just subscribe to a bunch around Christmas. [I am a masochist.]
Some of what I’m reading [and in no particular order]:
Subscribed to this in Peanut’s name as a Christmas gift. And then forgot about it. The first issue just arrived. There are some basic crafts and menus. I’m hoping she’ll want to do a few and help Bubba do them too. FTW!
I’ve only received one issue so far [and it isn't the one pictured], which reminds me I need to call them.
Update: Called in to subscriptions and they are sending out the Mr. Burns issue today. Wee!
Ah a sweet little treat in my otherwise monotonous life. Very much a guilty pleasure. After ordering something completely unrelated, Amazon offered me 12 weeks of this for $1. How could I pass that up? I also ordered Rolling Stone for $1. I have no idea who half the “celebrities” are, but I still enjoy it. Perhaps I am too old to read it?
I love Time. [And I wish I had more of it, ba dah dah], but I do need to get better about reading it immediately. It becomes irrelevant very quickly.
Oh, Oprah. I do enjoy her magazine, but it is so thick. As long as I read the part on books and the article where someone famous picks books that mean something to them, I am good. [This was another one of those Amazon deals.]
The Girl Scouts sell magazines as a fundraiser and to earn free nights of camping. I chose Harper’s. The catalog company mistakenly submitted the order for Harper’s Bazaar, which is a VERY different magazine.
As for the library books, I once again have WAY too many checked out.
And they are:
Hotel on the corner of bitter and sweet : a novel Ford, Jamie
Gregor the Overlander Collins, Suzanne
Karma Dunlap, Susan
The last Dickens : a novel Pearl, Matthew
I dreamed I married Perry Mason Kandel, Susan
Hardball Paretsky, Sara
Outlander Gabaldon, Diana
Catching fire Collins, Suzanne
Moonlight in Odessa : a novel Skeslien Charles, Janet
Hollywood Station : a novel Wambaugh, Joseph
The lost city of Z : a tale of deadly obsession in the Amazon Grann, David
The lost symbol : a novel Brown, Dan
The black echo Connelly, Michael
Book by book : the complete guide to creating mother-daughter book clubs Hudson, Cindy
Freakonomics : a rogue economist explores the hidden side of everything Levitt, Steven D.
When you’re finished with that Us Weekly, add that to my pile of books you’re saving for me…I love to look at my hubby (he made the cover this week:))!
You’re never too old for US Weekly!
