One of my Scouts gave me a gift card to Borders for Christmas. So I of course was forced to make a trip there as soon as possible. The Detective’s mother took the day off work and asked if we’d like to drop the kids off for a bit.
BOOYA!
We dumped them all off and headed to Atlanta Bread for a quick lunch then made our way to Borders. They had a ton of books moved to the bargain section so I spent most of my time picking out books I’d never heard of but sounded good from the back. Most of these were $3.99.
Here’s my list:
A Death in the Family by James Agee
Ladies’ Lending Club by Janice Kulyk Keefer
The Italian Secretary by Caleb Carr (I LOVED The Alienist, but hated Killing Time)
The Essential Marcus Aurelius
Brights Lights, Big Ass by Jen Lancaster (CPA highly recommends her)
How to Expand Love by the Dalai Lama
Love is a Mix Tape by Rob Sheffield
The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
The Complete Book of Running for Women
+ a couple of running magazines and Mental Floss
(Anyone read any of these?)
We also swung by and looked at Dick’s Sporting Goods, then sadly, had to go get the shorties and come home. But not before stopping at the library to pick up some books that came in for me.
Did I mention I love books?
Damn, I have Book of Lost Things…it was REALLY good. Let me know when you read it so we can discuss!
I finally had a chance to read (and finish) a few I've had from the library over break, so I'm feeling a bit accomplished…just checked out Wicked and The Memory Keeper's Daughter, but still reading Sookie, too…
I think you’ll really like Bright Lights, Big Ass. Let me know what you think!
Wow! That's a lot of books. I read Love Is a Mix Tape and loved it! I couldn't put it down.
