We took the shorties to see Santa at Bass Pro last week. It’s free and we are cheap so it was a perfect mix. Other than the fact that it was super cold out and there was a bit of a line, things went pretty smoothly.
Until we actually made it to Santa. Slim freaked out. Again. Just like last year. And Bubba made Santa open his letter. He’s 4 so can’t actually write anything except Hs and Os so it works out pretty well this time of year. Santa asked him to read it. Bubba said, “Dear Santa, I’m sorry. Please don’t give me coal.”
*sigh
As soon as Slim freaked, the Detective swoops in and takes him out of the Santa area. I point out that crying or not, the kid needs to be in the picture. So I grab him and try to hold him into the pic while staying out of frame myself. The gracious elves zoomed out so I was included. I have the forced smile that really means I’d like to kill someone. Merry Christmas!
