So my last post didn’t really delve deeply enough into how good of friends the Detective and our guest are. They’ve been friends for so long and have been so close that I jokingly refer to him as my husband’s boyfriend. And they go along with it. As they are totally secure in their masculinity of course. So he will refer to me as his boyfriend’s wife.
Is that weird? Probably.
SO when he came over last week, the Detective had made dinner. He did one of his delicious beer can chickens, salad, and sweet potatoes. I do not like them. The Detective still doesn’t seem to get that.
Though in his defense we have only been together since 1996. *sigh.
Anyway, the Detective asks if I’d like a sweet potato. I reply, “No, thank you. I still do not like sweet potatoes.”
The Boyfriend pointed out that he loves them. To which I commented that the Detective made this dinner with his Boyfriend in mind.
And the Boyfriend then sang, “He knows what boys like…” to the tune of the Waitresses song “I Know What Boys Like.”
The Detective responded by singing, “I know what (insert the Boyfriend’s name) wants.” to the same tune.
Should I be worried?
That story makes me laugh out loud! They're so cute!
