Seriously, I had a list of topics that I could start off with. I’ve lost it. Perhaps my first topic should be my complete lack of organization.
I try. I try really hard. I am not that person. I am a cluttered mess. I feel like I need to save more than I should. Though I’ve been getting better about it. I’ve been tossing things left and right lately.
Part of our problem is the sheer volume of crap that we have in our house. There are way too many of everything. We are not rich or even upper middle class, but we are comfortable. I’d love to have empty space in our house. I’d love to have a counter top that is not stacked up with random stuff. It drives me batty, but I don’t know how to make it stop. I’ve cleared off our breakfast bar a least half a dozen times in the last several months. And yet, a day later, there it is. Covered in dog leashes and school papers and a random empty coffee mug.
How do you stay on top of it all? I’d be willing to bet that if I really put my mind to it, I could declutter, downsize, sort, donate, trash my way through the house. But I just don’t know if we could keep it that way. And that would kill me.
To get all that done and have it end up the same way. But maybe with less stuff, there’d be less to clutter around…
I have a friend that is total Type A. She is clean freak. Her closets are color coded and everything. It’s amazing. Maybe I could get her to overhaul my house and then I would just have to maintain. I think I could do it. Especially if she threatened bodily harm or something if I didn’t.

I believe I am the Type A friend you are referring too. LOL. So is my pseudonym “Clean Freak?”I am up for the challenge. Let me know I could punish you by grounding you from listening to music, reading and using the computer. Will that work?(If I do something that causes bodily harm things could get more messy - i.e. to hurt to clean or watch the kids, or blood to wipe up.)
